Whether you’re wanting to start a new hobby or looking for a course to play, Oxford has several different golf courses in town that offer memberships and public play. The Ole Miss Golf Course is open seven days a week and offers reduced prices for students. From Monday through Thursday, students can play nine holes for $18 or 18 holes for $26 and the general public can play nine holes for $21 or 18 holes for $29. On the weekends, the student pricing is $23 for nine holes and $31 for 18 holes. For the general public, nine holes cost $26 and 18 holes are $34. The course also offers numerous membership packages, one of which is geared toward students. If your student loves to golf, the student membership is available to all University of Mississippi students who are currently enrolled at the main and or satellite campuses. Membership fee, cart fees, merchandise, food, etc may be charged to their Bursar account, making payment extremely convenient. The Links at Oxford provide a complimentary golf membership for apartment residents, including unlimited golf with no initiation fee, no monthly dues and no green fees. The Links also offers membership options for non-residents and tee times for public play. Without a membership it cost $21 per person to play nine holes. The Country Club of Oxford offers golf course access only to individuals with a current membership. They offer a junior membership for adults under the age of 36 that provides access to all amenities. The initiation fee is $5,000 ($2,500 upon joining and $2,500 at age 36) and dues are $275 per month. Mallard Pointe Golf Course is located just outside Oxford in Sardis, Mississippi. The 18-hole course was rated one of the "Best Places to Play" by Golf Digest in 2004. The course offers challenging golf play for even the most experienced of golfers, with numerous trees lining the fairway, as well as water and grass area hazards that come into play with errant shots. To play standard nine holes, it costs $25 from Monday to Wednesday, $30 on Thursday and Friday and $32 on Saturday and Sunday.
