Cruising through Christmas

Just like every other holiday, Oxford goes big for Christmas. Mississippi goes big as well with Christmas lights everywhere you look. If you want to stay local to Oxford, drive through the Square and neighborhoods to see beautiful lights from the comfort of your warm car. If you want miles, and miles of nothing but lights, here are some places in Northern Mississippi that you can go.

Want “celebrity” lights? Christmas in Cotton Plant is known for appearing on TLC’s “My Crazy Obsession Christmas Collection”. This is 12 acres of nothing but lights that you can drive or walk through. Open November 29th-December 14th (Thursday, Friday, and Saturdays only) and December 18th-25th (every day except for the 24th). This is the perfect activity for families, college students, or anyone. For more information, go to http://christmasincottonplant.com/ .

In the Southaven area, stop by the 19th Annual Southern Lights from 6pm-10pm December 3rd-31st. Turn on your radio, listen to Christmas music, and ride through the lights. Visit https://visitdesotocounty.com/events/19th-annual-southern-lights/ for more information.

Lights of Many Blessings in Olive Branch is another great one to go to in Northern Mississippi. From November 29th-January 1st, go, see, and be merry! For more information on weather updates, address, and times, visit https://www.facebook.com/lightsofmanyblessings/ .

Christmas lights are the best way to get in the holiday spirit. Practice your Christmas carols, get your blanket, grab some hot chocolate, and go check out the lights!
