We are getting SO CLOSE to the most wonderful time of the year in Oxford! I can almost hear the Hotty Toddy’s and the game day banter now. Ole Miss’ first home game will take place in Oxford in just 30 days (or 43,000 minutes or 2,529,000 seconds, not like we’re counting) and we can hardly contain our excitement! If you have kept up with our “The Skinny on Game Day” series, you understand by now that there really is nothing like an Ole Miss football game.
You may be asking, “Ok after all the fun on game day where can I go and sleep for 12 hours” because you will be exhausted and your feet will hurt just a little. Many of you parents have probably already made arrangements to come to a football game but if not, we have some good news for you! We have been in touch with several hotels around town and some of them still have availability for certain games! Come pay a visit to your child and the most beautiful college and stay at these sweet hotels:
TownePlace Suites, Hampton Inn Oxford Conference Center, Hampton Inn Oxford, or Holiday Inn Express all have availability for Southern Illinois (first home game), Kent State, and for Mississippi State, better known as the Eggbowl. The Holiday Inn Express also has a few rooms left for the Ole Miss vs Alabama football game, which if you weren’t aware, is a HUGE deal around here but is so worth witnessing. The best part is? If you participate in Hilton Honors, Marriot Rewards, or IHG Rewards, you can use your points to stay for these football games! Guests earn points as they travel and can redeem them for free room nights. That’s right folks, if you have enough points you can basically stay in Oxford for free! If you do not h
ave a rewards program that is okay, too! Room rates for these football games are starting at $279 a night for Kent State and Southern Illinois and $199 for the Eggbowl if you stay both Wednesday and Thursday night. Room rates at Holiday Inn Express for the Bama game will start at $549. Sounds like some pretty rockin’ deals to us! Especially considering the free shuttle and hot breakfast at all of these hotels!
The Inn at Ole Miss also has availability for the Kent State, Southern Illinois, and Eggbowl games. The Inn at Ole Miss is a charming hotel located right on campus, which can be very ideal if you would like to be close to your incoming freshman’s dorm room. It is also a ten-second walk to the Grove so you don’t have to worry about catching a ride. Rates for these football games range from $309-649 a night.
The Graduate Oxford is a charming Oxford gem that has personality everywhere you look with a very convenient location on the Square. If you have attended one of our Empty Nesters nights, you have been to the Graduate. This hotel also has availability for the Eggbowl so if you are looking to spend a southern tradition in a southern charm hotel, they’ve got a place for you! Rates for this game will start at $399 a night.
So parents, if you are hesitant to attend a notorious football game, just do it. We promise you will not regret the memories you make here on game day with your Ole Miss student. These awesome hotels listed above will give you a perfect dose of southern hospitality and give you a home away from home for the weekend. See y’all down here soon and Hotty Toddy!
