The Most Wonderful Time of the Year...to get a Job

Is your student looking to make some extra money for Christmas shopping? If so, the holiday season is just around the corner and many businesses in Oxford are hiring extra help to accommodate for the increased demand around Christmas time. From wrapping presents to manning the cash register, students have the opportunity to make money while gaining valuable work experience and making important connections.

Tuesday Morning, for example, is looking to hire part-time seasonal help to prepare for the upcoming holidays. Employees can expect to work the cash register, move inventory from the back of the store to the front, assist customers with their shopping needs, and address any concerns from guests. Employee perks include great hours, discounts, and possible advancement opportunities.

Additionally, stores like Hunter’s Hollow, Kinnucan’s, and Chaney’s Pharmacy are also hiring employees to help with the register, assist shoppers, and carry products to vehicles. Neilson’s Department Store hires people each year to wrap gifts for shoppers in the store. For students interested in cooking or the food industry, No Time to Cook is looking for part-time help packing food and wrapping homemade dishes that are sold in freezer cases in various businesses in Oxford. The hours are mainly during the weekdays – no nights or weekends. Catering companies like My Michelle's will be looking for some help handling holiday parties, as well. Those who are interested in these jobs can find out more either online or at the store. Keep in mind that these job positions may fill quickly, so your student needs to apply as soon as possible!
