If your student wants more exercise options than those available at the new Ole Miss South Campus Recreation Center, Oxford has TONS of fitness studios!
Barre is a workout that has grown in popularity over the recent years. It’s a low intensity class combining basic ballet and pilates to tone and lengthen muscles. Oxford has a few different studios that offer barre classes including Pure Barre and Excite! Oxford.
For all of the yoga lovers out there, Oxford is home to Hot Yoga Plus, Baptiste Power Yoga, and Southern Star Yoga Center. Baptiste Power Yoga even offers community-wide $5 classes, available to those without memberships.
If you like a heated class, try Hotworx, Hot Yoga Plus or Baptiste Power Yoga! HOTWORX, located on the square, is a virtually instructed exercise program created for users to experience the many benefits of infrared heat absorption, while completing a 30-minute isometric workout or 15-min High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) session.
For all-around fitness options, Oxford has a variety of fitness centers including; Oxford Cross Fit, Orange Theory Fitness, SHED Fitness, Anytime Fitness, Snap Fitness, Excite! Oxford (Spin and Pilates,) and the Oxford YMCA.
If your student is looking for on-campus workout options, they get complimentary access to the Turner Center which is the university’s recreation center on campus. Students also get free entry to the brand new South Campus Recreation Center. Both gyms offer group classes, a walking track, and all the gym equipment you need.
