Halloween Happenings!

Oxford always has events happening throughout the year. The town gets livelier with each holiday, and Halloween is no exception. There’s the usual trunk-or-treats, trick-or-treating, and costumes. Being a college town, Oxford is able to offer more events for Ole Miss students as well as the community.

For haunted houses, there are a couple of options in town. The Library Sports Bar has a fun one and all ages are welcome! The cost is $5 for one trip or $8 for unlimited trips. They will have it open October 28th and 29th from 6-10pm. The Library gives all of their proceeds to Mississippi Critterz, a nonprofit organization that helps care for homeless animals. Another haunted house is provided by the Oxford Police Department. They decorate their training building on Molly Barr Road in Halloween décor and make it an exciting adventure that is sure to get you in the spirit! You can join them October 24th-26th from 6-9pm and cost is only $5.

On the 24th from 7pm-10pm, the Monster Ball will be held in the Diamond Club at Swayze Field to support Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. The adult costume party will have raffle tickets, a DJ, food, beverages, and many other activities to help support Le Bonheur. You can buy your $50 ticket and learn more here.

The next day, October 25th, Proud Larry’s is having their Scary Larry’s Masquerade. Throw on a costume, eat some candy, have some drinks, and listen to the amazing band. Doors open at 8pm, and the band will start at 9. This is for ages 18+. Tickets are $10! Click here to get yours.

If parties aren’t your style, head over to the Graduate hotel on October 29th at 5pm to decorate cookies with the Cookie Canvas. Enjoy step-by-step instructions on how to decorate your cookie, a free cocktail, apps, and Cookie Canvas swag. Get your $50 ticket here.

Get your furry friend involved, and stop by Hollywood Feed anytime from 9am to 7pm on the 31st. They will have treats for pets and owners! If you don’t want to dress up, dress your furry friend up and enter them into the costume contest.

The Oxford Film Festival will be hosting a screening of “Rocky Horror Picture Show” at the Powerhouse on the 31st at 8pm. You can buy tickets in advance online for $20 or at the door for $25. Concessions will be sold to support the Oxford Film Festival. For more information click here.
