Get Ready for Nights at Swayze

Take me out to the ball game! It’s about that time of year again and I can’t contain my excitement! It might still be chilly outside and after the snow storm Oxford just had, I’m more excited than ever for beer showers in Swayze! The Ole Miss Baseball team finished their 2020 season 16-1, which was cut short due to the coronavirus outbreak. The first regular season game is February 23d and the Rebels will host Arkansas State. The University has set rules for social distancing, face coverings, and other covid-friendly guidelines to ensure the health and safety for the fans and players.

The Oxford-University Stadium has a limited capacity of 25 percent and face masks must be worn at all times in the facility, unless actively eating or drinking. There are hand sanitizer stations and fans must social distance while walking around the facility. The concession stands will be open for business with a reduced menu, but beer will still be sold! You can find a detailed Covid-19 list of rules for fans and students on the Ole Miss Sports website.

To abide by the State of Mississippi’s executive orders, camping chairs will be provided and placed in pods of two or four. Students can purchase tickets for $5 the Monday prior to the game. Coolers are permitted, but there is a strict no tent or BBQ spaces permitted for the left and right field. All tickets must be downloaded or printed at home and they strongly encourage you to add the ticket to your apple wallet prior to arriving at the game.

You can find the 2021 team roster and their full schedule at olemisssports.com/baseball. The promotional schedule has not been released yet, but you can expect more $1 Hot Dog Nights, Friday Night Fireworks, and fun giveaways at the ball games. Grab a few pals and get excited for some fun nights at the old ball game!
