How Do You Take Your Spring Break?

Like so many of our plans for the past year, Spring Break throughout the SEC has been canceled. Just because the universities have eliminated Spring Break does not mean students cannot still creatively take a break.

Today we want to share with you the first in a series of articles designed to help you and your student solve the question, “How do we take a spring break without a week off?” As you know, this school year Spring Break 2021 at Ole Miss was planned for March 13-20. There are plenty of opportunities to take a break in Oxford. We have put together a handful of ways for you to treat your student while they vacay in town. Allow us to introduce, The Oxford Staycation.

First up, baseball season. In case you did not know this, baseball season has begun, and the Rebels will be in the midst of a homestand during the week break was scheduled. Ole Miss baseball games have started the season with 25 percent capacity at Swayze Field and include seat blocks and face coverings required when entering and walking around. There are social distancing restrictions in place as well for left and right field seating. The Rebels are playing out of conference games through March 18 and the SEC conference opener is March 19 vs Auburn. For more information including ticket sales go to olemisssports.com.

With baseball season starting, that means crawfish season has begun as well! The two easily go hand in hand at Swayze Field! Boiled Crawfish to go are available at the Texaco Station located at 1448 South Lamar; (662) 234-6461 and at The Landshark on Jackson Ave; (662) 816-3784. For store hours and deals go to @landshark8 on Facebook or call the Texaco station. Don’t forget to send your student to pick up their orders with a rolling cooler (the easiest way for fans to bring in food and drink). Always remember to pack solo cups for beverages!

No staycation is complete without self-care which makes spa days essential after midterms and an ice storm. Here are our thoughts.
