Orientation: Empty Nester's Night

So much excitement is surrounding many of you parents who have recent high school graduates as you both embark on this next chapter of y’all’s lives. And we here at POMS are really excited to help you start this new chapter!

By now, you have registered for orientation sessions this summer, and if you haven't, there is still time to register here. And of course, you’ll want to stay at an amazing hotel (at a very affordable price.) Remember, The Courtyard Starkville MSU at The Mill Conference Center is a perfect option for you with a location right off of campus for easy access to all orientation events.

The 2019 tentative orientation schedule is available here for students and parents. By searching and viewing the orientation website, you will find information about parking, fees, schedules, what to bring, to-do lists, and more. There is also more information about places to stay and eat while you are visiting Starkville.

What you don’t see on the official schedule, is the amazing event POMS is hosting for you at the very end of day 1 for each and every orientation session during June and July! We are inviting every single one of you awesome new parents to come to our “Empty Nester’s Cocktail Hour” at the Courtyard Marriott. This is the perfect place to meet and greet fellow rising freshman parents, over a well-deserved cocktail after a full day of information and fun. You’ll have a chance to make some MSU friends and unwind after a busy day. We’ll even be joined by some of Starkville's businesses and advertisers.

So, go ahead and save the date and time in your calendar to attend the Empty Nester event during your student's orientation. Stay as long as you like, we here at POMS want to give you a warm Starkville welcome and get to know you! Hail State!
