Urgent medical needs, well... need are indeed urgent. Depending on your students need, it's a best practice to always call ahead anywhere you go and see how long the wait is. Of course, there is always our local hospital: Baptist North Mississippi located off Old Taylor Road for true emergent need!

This past Sunday night, I had a student text me "Ms. Kate ... my friend cut her finger really bad and we're at the emergency room, but its taking forever! Any other ideas?"

I sure wish I could have waived my magic wand for Emily and her roomie, but sadly on a Sunday night in Oxford - the only place open for emergent needs was in fact the hospital.
